Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are an integral part of the holistic, well-rounded education that PRSS seeks to provide. The school has a broad and diverse range of CCAs aim to target students’ different needs, interest and experiences. Through active participation, students are able to gain a positive school experience, acquire leadership skills, inter-personal effectiveness and to strive for excellence. PRSS leverages on CCAs as a platform at which students can develop their character, qualities and be prepared to thrive in challenging environments.
CCA participation is compulsory for all students in secondary schools. All students are expected to take part in at least one CCA from the 4 groups, namely, Sports and Games, Uniform Groups, Performing Arts and Clubs & Societies.
Students must have a main CCA each year from one of the 4 groups. Points are awarded for participation in the main CCA with at least 75% attendance rate .
For students with an attendance rate of 50%-74%, the CCA points scored for the year will not be computed. However, CCA points accumulated in earlier years can be retained for computation when the student rejoins a CCA and fulfils the 75% attendance rate criterion.
Except for medical reasons, attendance rate of less then 50% would constitute a break in the CCA and all points accumulated up to and including that year would be annulled.
Students may participate in Special Interest Groups if they are able to cope with their main CCA. Points are awarded for students' participation in the Special Interest Groups at school representation level or higher. Minimum attendance in the Special Interest Group is not a criterion for points to be computed.
